Watford and Hertsmere School Sports Partnership

07.11.11 On Monday 7th November Staff from Schools within the Partnership were invited to a PE Co-ordinator Training Day for KS1 and KS2. Staff were given the opportunity to attend training courses in Fundamental Movement, KS2 Gymnastics, KS1 Virtual Multi Skills and Tag Rugby. The day was extrememly well attended and we hope that those who took part have been able to take ideas back to their Schools.

02.11.11 The Partnership held an U16 Badminton Tournament on Wednesday 2nd November 2011. The Tournament which was held at Queens' School saw Schools from within the local area come together to compete in the first round of the Center Parcs National Tournament. Again the standard of play was extrememly high and the tournament saw two new champions crowned in 2011. In the Girls Tournament Dame Alice Owens School finished in first place and in the Boys Tournament Watford Boys School were crowned Champions. Both teams will now go forward to represent the Partnership in the next round at the Herts School Games Winter Finals in December.

19.10.11 The Partnership held the U14 Badminton Tournament on Wednesday 19th October 2011 at Queens' School. A Boys Tournament and Girls Tournament took place and some high quality badminton was on display. In the Girls Tournament Dame Alice Owens School were crowned Champions and in the Boys Tournament Watford Boys School successfully defended their title. Both teams will now go through to represent the Partnership at the Herts School Games Final in December and we wish them good luck!

07.10.11 Year 6 Students from Shenley Primary School have been taking part in Cycle Training this week. Participants completed the Bikeability Level 1 earlier in the week and have been progressing through Level 2, where they have been learning to cycle safely on the local roads.

18.06.11 Students from across the Partnership took part in the Herts Youth Games at Herts Sports village on Saturday 18th June 2011. Representing the Watford and Hertsmere Districts participant were involved in teams across a range of different sports and age groups. A huge congratulations to all those who took part in the Games.

17.06.11 Friday 17th June 2011 saw the first Herts School Games Summer Term Finals take place at Herts Sports Village. As part of a National Pilot Hertfordshire are the first County in the Country to organise a School Games event. Schools from across the Partnership were invited to represent the Watford and Hertsmere School Sports Partnership in a range of different sports having qualified through the Partnership Finals which had recently taken place.

08.06.11 The Partnership Kwik Cricket Finals took place on Wednesday 8th June at Radlett Cricket Club. 8 teams from across the Partnership, who had qualified through their local Family Competitions, came together to compete for the title of Partnership Kwik Cricket Champions and a place at the County Finals. The standard of play as usual was extrememly high and the tournament saw some extrememly closely matches. Following the Pool games and semi finals Little Reddings met Cassiobury in the Final. Despite an outbreak of rain both teams played exceptionally well with Little Reddings justpulling out a lead and going on to win the match. e would like to wish Little Reddings good luck at the County Finals.
