Multi Skills

Key Stage 1

The Partnership will be organising a Virtual Multi Skills League for Key Stage 1 students in 2011 / 2012. The competition is designed specifically for pupils in School Years 1 and 2 and measures a range of fundamental athletic skills. The ‘virtual’ competition means that all activities are run at the individual school site but the results are sent to the Competition Manager using the class scoresheet provided in the pack. There are five simple activities which can be delivered indoors or outdoors during a PE Lesson or alternatively one activity could be run each lunchtime over the course of a week.

The first round of competition will take place in the Autumn Term, followed by a second round of competition in the Summer Term. Schools can enter either or both of these competitions, but we would encourage all Schools to participate at least once. The emphasis of the competition is on participation by all children and we hope the activities allow all pupils to achieve success, at the same time as allowing staff to assess and monitor pupils’ strengths and weaknesses.
